Temple Beth
Am’s youth commission supports the variety of activities and programs
for Temple Beth Am youth, grades 3 to 12. The
commission, in partnerships with the youth advisor and parents,
promotes opportunities for our youth to develop friendships beyond
our religious school. The results of these informal programs mean
stronger connections to Temple Beth Am.
Three distinct
youth groups are available for Temple Beth Am youth:
Clubs 34 & 56
for children grades 3 to 6 and is coordinated by a group of enthusiastic
parents. Generally, four interactive programs are planned and scheduled
throughout the year.
Junior Beth
Am Temple Youth (J-BAT)
for grades 7 and 8, and is under the direction of our youth advisor.
Generally four interactive programs are planned and scheduled with
the annual Shul-In at Temple Oheibi Shalom as featured activity.
Beth Am Temple
Youth (BATY)
for grades 9 to 12, and is under the direction of our youth advisor.
In addition to BATY board meetings, local activities, and NFTY-NE
(North American Federation of Temple Youth – Northeast) conclavettes,
dances, and institutes, BATY gives our high school youth opportunities
for leadership development.
Youth Scholarship
Programs
This summer or fall, is your child going to Jewish overnight camp,
visiting Israel, attending a National Federation for Temple Youth
(NFTY) program or college? If so, there are scholarships to help
with expenses. Did you know that in the last seven years, Temple
Beth Am has awarded over $22,500 in scholarship money to our teenagers
for college, camp, and Israel trip expenses? Yes -- $22,500!

Sisterhood's
Leslie Brenner Camp Scholarship
The generosity of those people who, by purchasing Leslie Brenner
Camp Scholarship cards throughout the year (at a minimum cost of
$5 each), recognize life cycle events of their families and friends,
enables Sisterhood to provide scholarships to first-time campers
at Jewish overnight camps.
Youth Commissioner,
Sue Siegel urges you to get your children involved with our Beth
Am’s youth programs, and to participate yourselves. The investment
we all make in our youth programs is an investment in Jewish continuity
among our youth We can really make a difference in their lives when
we work together.
L’Shalom,
Sue Siegel
Youth Commissioner
