| The
School at Temple Beth Am strives to meet the challenge of creating
literate youths with positive identities as Reform Jews. Our program
is seeing continuous improvement and our students are involved in
the learning process in such a way that one can feel their "ruach"
(spirit) and joy in the hallways. |

CONFIRMATION
|
| Confirmation
is an opportunity for young people to enhance their Jewish learning
experience beyond Bar/Bat Mitzvah. Our 10th graders study with Rabbi
Miller and Cantor Schechtman
in a class called Confirmation. Through the study and practice of
Jewish ethics and values, confirmands affirm their commitment to the
Jewish people. |

|
|
|
Additionally,
the highlight of the Confirmation year is the trip to New York City.
During the February or April vacation, Temple Beth Am joins with
the Confirmation classes of a number of Greater Boston Reform synagogues
to visit Jewish (and non-Jewish) sites of New York City.
For three days,
several buses filled with Jewish teenagers (and their rabbis, cantors
and chaperones) visit exciting destination points
|
|
such as Ellis
Island, the Lower East Side (including lunch at world famous
Jewish Delis), a Broadway show, Hebrew
Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, the Jewish
Braille Institute and many more. Whether they are seasoned New
Yorkers or first-time visitors, the confirmands have a blast in the
Big Apple. |

On
Shavuot, our annual Confirmation
Service takes place. This service, which is put together and led
by the confirmation class, is both beautiful and meaningful, whether
you know anyone in the confirmation class or not. With robes and
flowers, our confirmands process into the sanctuary and lead us
in worship and music with great feeling. It is a joy to watch our
young people as they grow from adorable consecrants just able to
recite the Sh'ma, to confident, educated confirmands, conducting
a worship service with grace and dignity.

We
strongly urge all families to make
Temple Beth Am High School and Confirmation a priority.

Our
Jewish future depends on it!
