Hamitzvah Hazot

As part of our 6th and 7th grade curriculum, the students are required to participate in our Hamitzvah Hazot program.

Each student must complete 3 social service projects during grade 6 and again during grade 7. Three areas of mitzvot need to be represented by their projects: Jewish Living, Jewish Learning and Jewish Doing. Upon completion of their projects, students will present what they have done to the class.

The 6th and 7th graders have the option to participate in either Hamitzvah Hazot or Kesher 13.

To participate in the Hamitzvah Hazot program, each student must complete 3 social service projects during grade 6 and again during grade 7. Three areas of mitzvot need to be represented by their projects: Jewish Living, Jewish Learning and Jewish Doing. They can attend services, read a biography of a Jewish person, attend Jewish summer camp or read articles in a Jewish magazine among many other choices. Teachers will monitor the students' progress and they will be given an opportunity to share and discuss their projects in class.
