This will be
my 1st year teaching at Temple Beth Am. I have been involved in
Jewish education for over 35 years. I started my career by leading
the Jr. Congregation services at my synagogue in Pittsfield, MA
when I was in high school.
My formal Jewish
educator's training came from the Jewish Theological Seminary. I
led a USY group in Va. Beach, VA with my husband, Andy.
When we were
transferred to Japan, I had the opportunity to teach Jewish children
and adults to read Hebrew. Upon our return to America, I worked
3 summers at Camp Ramah in Palmer, first as a counselor and then
as an arts & crafts teacher.

 |
| I
have spent the last 19 years in the Boston area, teaching at various
Hebrew schools and day schools. I enjoy teaching grades 2 through
7 the most. |

30 years ago, and during that time have taught music, directed choirs,
taught groups K through High School, and worked with Junior and
Senior Youth groups. Additionally,
I served as congregational Cantorial Soloist at Temple Shalom Emeth
in Burlington MA for 14 years.
My wife and
I live in Framingham, where our two boys attend both the public
schools and the TBA religious school.

I
have been the Librarian at Temple Beth Am's Levine Library for the
past eight years. Previously, I worked at the Framingham Public Library
as a Library Assistant for twenty-one years. It has been my pleasure
to oversee the growth of the Levine Library, adding a computer, updating
the collection with new books, DVDs, CDs and books on tape, both for
adults and children. I especially enjoy interacting with the students
of the Religious School on Sunday mornings and creating reading incentive
programs that will encourage their interest in books on Judaic themes. |
