The
Sisterhood of Temple Beth Am
is the women's organization, which welcomes and embraces women from
our congregation as well as women from the MetroWest Jewish community
at large to participate in social activities, community service
activities, programs promoting Judaism and personal growth, and
most importantly to make new and lasting friendships.
The heart of Sisterhood of Temple Beth Am is our women volunteers
who give so unselfishly of themselves to carry forward our programs
and activities each year , for example, Purim Carnival, Model Seders,
Boutique Night, Shabbat services for Jewish nursing home residents,
Yom Tov Parties,
Rummage, et al.

Through
the year, Sisterhood also contributes financially to enhance the
physical appearance of Temple Beth Am and supports many of the ongoing
Temple-wide programs, for example New Member Shabbat dinner, Sisterhood/BATY
Shabbat service, educational programs for the Temple's Judaica and
Hebrew School Programs. It is through the loyal support of our membership
that a broad calendar of programs are scheduled. Here are just of
few of what sisterhood offers:
- Caring
Committee - reaching our to our members in time
of need.
- Circles
- offering members opportunities to meet in a "birds of
a feather" fashion, seeking out old and new friends for
discussion forums and programs.
- Community
Services - including our monthly visit to a local
nursing home.
- Honors
Dinner
- an annual fete of ourselves where we honor, thank, appreciate
and enjoy each other in a festive manner.
- Hospitality

providing refreshments at our general meetings and other special
functions
- Judaica
Shop
- offering judaica and special gits for any occasion.
- Mitzvot
- aiding the homeless and needy families in our community.
- Our
Funds -
happiness & memoriam, Uniongrams, YES---all supporting vital
Sisterhood projects as well as out youth.
- Outreach
- sponsoring special programs which help to celebrate the diversity
in our temple.
- Paid-Up
Supper - an annual "kick-off" for the year,
complete with great food, company and entertainment.
- Pre-School
Parties
- a heartwarming introduction to Judaism and Jewish celebrations,
offered to our youngest temple members (and others!).
- Program
- arranging programming for each monthly general meeting, ranging
from educational, entertaining, informative and everything in
between and beyond!
- Purim
Carnival
- a true highlight of the year, celebrated with games, food,
prizes, costumes
- and
lots of FUN for children of all ages.
- Religious
School Parties
- assisting the Sunday and Hebrew Schools with celebrations
and traditions.
- Rummage
Sale
- twice yearly, another opportunity to reach out to the community
as a service as well as a fundraiser.
- Shofar
- our beautifully designed newsletter, keeping all Sisterhood
members informed and on-online is now a part of the temple publication,
TEBEAM!
- Youth
- ongoing liaisons with the youth of our temple, enjoying Sabbath
services and other collaborative events. Sisterhood sponsors
the Leslie Brenner Camp Scholarship. For more information and
