In addition to its annual memberships, the Brotherhood raises funds through guest fees received at its breakfasts, the videotaping of Bar & Bat Mitzvah ceremonies for the families, and special events planned from time to time.

We also mail a holiday card, letters from the clergy and a goodie package to our college students at Chanukah and Passover. This enables us to keep in touch. The committee also acts as a conduit for information on community, national and international emergency relief projects, and facilitates the High Holiday Food and the Passover mini food drives.

This committee was established in 1985 to aid the first homeless women & family shelter, Pathways, here in Framingham and has aided many such families on a one-on-one basis in the last 15 years. The Sisterhood Mitzvot Committee is still committed to helping at Pathways and continuing our support for those less fortunate in our community.

Nursery School At Temple Beth Am
Liaison - Ellen Jagher
This position serves as liaison between the Board of Trustees and the Nursery School Committee, keeping the lines of communication open between the temple and the Nursery School, ensuring mutual benefit and cooperation between both organizations.

Outreach
Chairperson - Nancy Bromley
Reform Jewish Outreach began in the late 1970s as a response to the growing number of Jews who were marrying non-Jewish partners. Its initial focus was based on proactively seeking ways to make those who were involved in relationships with non-Jews to feel welcome in the Jewish community. However, over the years, its mission has evolved into not only welcoming intermarried couples to take part in temple life, but to also actively encourage all Jews to make Jewish choices through discussion groups, community support, adult education, and Jewish resources.

Many programs have been developed by the UAHC over the years, and in fact, it has spent a significant amount of resources to promote the Outreach program. At Temple Beth Am, the Outreach committee has been restarted to promote the premise of Jews making Jewish choices. We are not seeking to promote conversion of non-Jewish partners, but rather, we are seeking ways to make all those in our congregation to feel more comfortable with our congregation, regardless of the road taken to 300 Pleasant Street.
